My first Five for Friday

I am really excited to link up with Doodle Bugs for Five for Friday.  I'm such a newbie at this whole teacher blog thing so I'm really looking forward to joining the fun!

Here we go!  (Let's hope I do this right!)

1. This week my husband and I went to an outdoor concert featuring contestants from The Voice.  We got to see Amy Whitcomb, Ryan Innes, and Midas Whale!

p.s. I never thought that mustache would be around for so long.  I'm thinking of naming it...

2. I finished up my second label and decor packet to compliment the first.  Now you can have all the glories of bright and soft colors and a whole bunch of chalkboard in your classroom!  Click below if you're interested.  On sale this week!

 A Happy Place {Editable}

3. I have started my summer classroom makeover!  I love my classroom and school so much, but it was only this year that I discovered things like TPT and teacher blogs...so now I have a zillion ideas zipping about in my head for improving things.  It makes me very excited.  With some of my drawers and cupboards looking a bit disheveled I am anxious to tidy, organize, and pretty everything up!

4. My sister got married on Monday in the mountains near Park City.  The whole family stayed up there and we each got put in these cute little cabins belonging to her fiance's neighbors and friends.  James and I lucked out by getting the honeymooner rental cottage...it was so darling and comfy!  After the day's events we sat in the hot tub watching the moon rise and a moose munching on trees!

5. Remember this idea that I saw in a high school classroom?  I feel like I have a million crates lying around that just take up space and frankly aren't very cute.  Well, I found this darling chevron ribbon at Hobby Lobby and I'm excited to doll my crates up.  Is it weird that things like this make me just so totally happy?  Because they really do!

Well, there you have it!  My first Five for Friday!  I feel as though I just took a tiny little step forward in this blogging journey! :)  Thanks so much for reading!

p.s. I couldn't sleep well last night so I stayed awake making a bunch of back to school freebies!  Stay tuned!

A Happy Place

Wedding week in my family is in full swing!  In addition to my two siblings getting married, two of my cousins also got hitched. Three weddings down, one more to go tomorrow!

I've had a little time (yay, summer!) to finish up another decor packet.  I wanted a little something that would go well with my  Chalkboard and Brights decor pack, Chalk it up!  You see, I am not the kind of gal to have absolutely everything in my classroom matchy matchy to a T.  I need a little more eclecticism and flexibility.  You know what I'm saying?  Everything also needs to be purposeful and functional...though sometimes there are exceptions to that....I mean, when something is just so totally cute you can't say no.

Anywho, in an attempt to make my classroom happy and sweet and in an attempt to contrast with my chalkboard brights, I came up with this classroom label and decor packet, A Happy Place.  It features some chalkboard, some soft and sweet pastels, a lot of chevron and other cute patterns, and a whole lot of happiness.  Classrooms should be happy, right?  For the kidsies and for their teachersies!

Here are a few pictures to show some of the contents of this new packet.  Oh, and I know you'll just be so grateful that I used my old rickety table and borrowed couch to model these items!  As you know, we are a poor college student and his poor teacher wife so we just make the most of what we can :).  Not exactly luxurious living over here!

Schedule cards, Months of the Year labels, Days of the Week labels, Alphabet Labels (for book bins, word wall, or whatever you please), number cards 0-120.

I told you about my gorgeous couch, right?  Ahem, the packet includes 8 blank bunting elements to use as you wish and a welcome sign with editable blanks so you can say whatever you want.

There are 8 different binder covers with matching spines to help with your happy organizational needs!

I could also rant about the carpet in my apartment right about now....but I will spare you!  In this packet you will find everything you need to make a cute teacher toolbox.  You know, like the kind spattered everywhere on Pinterest! There are large and small labels with every different supply name under the sun!  There are also editable blanks in case you can think of some that I forgot!

There it is!  I hope you enjoy this packet.  107 pages of happy sweetness that you can edit and change to best suit your needs!

Click here to purchase!  It will be on sale through the week!

Wedding Week and Number Cards!

It may be that my head likes to fill itself with shimmering glowing ideals about summer...or I may have just forgotten that this can also be a very busy time of year!  Seriously, it has been extremely awesome to have a break from school, but I can't say that I am any less busy!  This might have something to do with the fact that two of my siblings are getting married this week.  TWO!  It is like wedding preparation crazy land over at my parent's house so I've been helping out where I can.

My widdo brother Mikey is getting married down here in the valley, but my sweet sister Lisa is getting married up in Park City.  We are headed up to the mountains for the rest of the weekend, and I only have a minute before I need to get all prepped and packed and ready to go.  Oh, and I need to whip up a lightning-fast batch of muddy buddies for the car ride up.  You know, just, um...because.

But first!  I had a sweet reader request I add some number cards to my Chalk it up! Decor Pack.  So I did!  I totally love messing around with borders and fonts and papers and all that jazz, so it was great fun. Number cards 0-120 (and some added bonus library labels) are now part of the packet, no extra charge. You can also get the number cards just by themselves right here.

Alrightsy, gotta go crank out those muddy buddies.  Have an amazing rest of your day!  I'll be back after my family's crazy happy wedding week!

Chalk it up! and a Freebie!

I love this whole chalkboard thing going on right now!  I love the look of it and I love the little throwback nostalgia aspect of it.  So lovely.  Well, a few weeks back I started on my first ever decor pack (hurrah!) and the theme turned out to be...you guessed it...chalkboard!  I wasn't aware of the trend when I started, but then I began seeing more and more darling chalkboard items on TPT.  I'm going to toss mine into the mix if you don't mind!

Introducing, my first ever decor pack!

Now this little chalkboard monster turned out kind of more ginormous than I expected...201 pages.  If you're into that kind of thing, awesome!  Click here.

If you're not....I've broken the whole thing down into sub-packets so you can pick and choose what you like.

I am pretty much extremely excited to get decorating for next year.  I designed these pages with the little ones in mind.  These kinds of things ought to be as useful to our kiddos, wouldn't you agree?  And, a little cuteness doesn't go amiss either!

And speaking of chalkboard cuteness, here is a little chalkboard freebie for you.   Chalkboard Objectives Posters!

Keep enjoying that sunshine!
